Inflatable Containment Barriers

In the protection from contaminated water or other dangerous liquids as well as the flood protection or oil spills over flowing waters, time has always been a key factor. Sandbag barriers require a lot of time and effort for their construction, which ends up being ineffective and, often, the time, strength and materials required for the job are not available during the flood episode. As a result, there is great damage to the land and property.

The Oeko-Tec double containment tube (DCT) system uses water’s own weight to ensure an effective and viable dam to prevent water from entering the facilities. The system can be used by a small team of people, installs quickly and adapts to any terrain.

The reduced storage space required and the total weight of less than 100 kg for the entire pack, makes the system ideal for emergency services, fire departments, civil protection and even private uses.

The double containment tube (DCT) from Oeko-Tec, is a multipurpose piece of containment equipment, whose application can be summarized in four broad categories:

• Flood containment
• Dangerous liquid containment
• Fire extinguishing waters containment
• Containment of oil and other contaminating liquids in flowing waters

Apart from the various applications, the system has the additional advantage of being able to be stored in a small space, either onboard a fire truck or in a storage container. The material is very resistant, robust and even reusable plastic if certain rules are followed during its use. In all cases of deployment, only a few people are required and no additional technical equipment is necessary.
