Watertight Barriers

As dictated by the APQ regulations in their corresponding Technical Instructions, containment of the soil and the first 10 centimeters of the perimeter must be guaranteed. Perimeter containment is easily achieved through the warehouse walls, or by building a 10 cm high perimeter wall. However, this causes problems accessing the warehouse and for the loading and unloading of goods.

Therefore, it is necessary to install the appropriate safety elements to ensure that, in the event of an accidental spillage or in case of water generated by a fire, hazardous liquids and contaminants cannot leave the warehouses, nor the premises.

The classic system of the fords has the disadvantage of the continuous passage of forklifts, which ends up causing wear on the machines and, probably, causing lumbar damage in the operators of the vehicles.

Therefore, it is advisable to install a “Mechanical Barrier System of Sealing” to ensure that, in the event of an accidental spillage or in the event that water is generated by fires, hazardous liquids and contaminants cannot leave the APQ warehouses, nor can they leave the premises. In addition, these barriers can be directly linked to the alarm system, which means that in case of fire, flood or accidental spillage, the system is automatically activated without the need to be turned on by an operator.
